1.merchant指做国与国之间大批生意的商人; trader既可指做某一具体行业生意的商人,也可指在证券或商品交易所中自行交易而不是专门的代理商; tradesman则侧重指一般的小业主,如零售商; dealer指通过为他人牵线搭桥或做货物转手生意的盈利者,亦称中间商; pedlar指走街串巷叫卖的“小贩”; salesman通常指“售货员,推销员”。

2.dealer不单独使用,必须和表示行业的词连用。
